Knowledge and Employability

Knowledge and Employability (K&E) is a program available for Oak Hill School students in Grades 8 and 9 who are experiencing difficulty in the regular academic program and who learn best through hands-on activities.

K&E courses support students in reading comprehension, writing and mathematics. The focus is on basic skills essential for the workplace, community and home. Students obtain a sense of success and achievement in their learning experiences and develop entry-level job skills.

Students can go on to register in the K&E program at the high school level. When a student successfully completes senior high K&E courses, they earn a provincial certificate of achievement and may enter into employment. They may also continue their education to gain a general high school diploma.
